Note to Recruiters

Indigenous Graduation Celebration Fall 2024

Thank you for your interest in sharing your opportunity with UBC Indigenous students.

The University has an online career platform called CareersOnline where recruiters can post job and career development opportunities at no cost. This board is available to all UBC students and alumni regardless of their degree program or level, and recruiters can specify their target audience in the posting form. Learn more about recruiting UBC students/alumni.

If you wish to create a posting and have it promoted to Indigenous students on the Vancouver campus, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the CareersOnline login page:
    – Log-in if you have an account.
    – Register for an account if you do not have one.
  2. Post your opportunity (job, internship, volunteer, etc.).
    • Indicate that Indigenous applicants are your target audience.
    • Note that the information you provide in the online posting form will be published as it was entered. Proofreading or editing services are not provided, nor are submissions posted on behalf of an employer.
  3. Ensure your posting adheres to the guidelines set in place by the BC Employment Standards Act.
  4. Once your posting has been approved (typically within 1-2 business days), you will receive a confirmation email.
  5. Once your posting has been approved it will remain online for a maximum of 30 days. You can re-post the opportunity if you wish.
  6. Once your CareersOnline posting is up, alert the First Nations House of Learning (FNHL) via fnhl.communications@ubc.ca with a request to promote it.

Keep in mind:

  • Non-CareersOnline postings will not be promoted.
  • Only student compatible opportunities and those targeted to Indigenous students and early graduates will be considered for promotion by FNHL.
  • Due to limited resources, FNHL cannot guarantee it will promote your opportunity.
  • FNHL cannot verify if your posting has been accepted by CareersOnline. It will, however, ensure the posting’s link is live before promoting it.

Thank you for recruiting Indigenous students at UBC!
