Indigenous Undergraduate Research Mentorship Program

mentorshipThe Indigenous Undergraduate Research Mentorship Program (IURMP) is an opportunity for Indigenous undergraduate students to gain a glimpse into the world of research by being paired with a faculty member on campus.

Students will gain insight into the variety of research that is currently taking place at UBC in a supportive environment with access to the following:

  • Dedicated UBC Staff support from Enrolment Services and the Graduate Student Coordinator
  • Opportunities to meet and connect with fellow Indigenous undergraduate students in a program cohort
  • A dedicated Faculty Mentor who will be responsible for guiding your learning throughout the length of the program
  • Workshops and learning opportunities with your IURMP cohort throughout the program, such as applying for an Undergraduate Student Research Award, and connecting your pathway to Graduate School

Time Commitment: 4-5 hours/week throughout Term 2 (January to April 2021)

Eligibility: Undergraduate students at the Vancouver campuses who self-identify as Indigenous.
